If a restaurant were to name something after you, what would it be? Describe it. (Bonus points if you give us a recipe!) Photographers, artists, poets: show us DINNER.
If a restaurant were to name a sandwich after me, it would be called “the Generalist”. I know a little about a lot of different things. I sometimes feel like a repository for a lot of useless information. Some would say I only know enough to get myself into trouble.
Please note: I have not actually made this sandwich. Ham and cheese happens to be a favorite of mine so I thought I would build upon that and use ingredients that all said a little something about me.
The Generalist
Two slices of Bauernbrot (German Farmer’s bread) to honor my German heritage for a whole grain taste with a nice spice
A slice of Kerrygold Dubliner cheese (a mature cheddar with sweet nutty tones of a Swiss and the piquant bite of aged Parmesan) to honor my Irish heritage
A slice of brown sugar baked ham. The sweetness of the sugar complements the salty flavor of the ham.
A swirl of Dijon mustard for those 5 years of French I took in High School. Dijon mustard has a sharper taste.
Romaine Lettuce because it’s tall and sturdy
A slice of beefsteak tomato for freshness and old-fashioned flavor
Enjoy!
