I Dream of Johnny
I Dream of Johnny by Juliet Madison
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

In I Dream of Johnny by Juliet Madison we meet Mandy. Mandy is a single girl struggling to get her business (Mandy’s Magical Mobiles) off of the ground. Mandy has just broken up with Dan and is feeling a bit sorry for herself.

In a fit of cleaning frenzy she knocks a forgotten box off of the shelf in her closet and finds a long-forgotten gift – a magical genie’s lamp. Half-jokingly for one of her wishes, she asks for a Greek God. Unfortunately she left the “r” out of the first word. What she gets is not what she expected at all.

I wasn’t sure what I was getting with this funny novella. It turned out to be a cute little story that made me smile more than once. We’ve all been where Mandy was – down in the dumps and wishing we had a magic lamp to make everything perfect. Mandy finds out that perfect isn’t always what it’s cracked up to be.
