Well, my little vacation IS over. I had two weeks of working 2-1/2 days and then having 4-1/2 days off. Sigh. That is a schedule that I could get used to, but unfortunately the car in the driveway and the house I’m sitting inside say “no, you must work to pay for us” so it’s back to work I go.
I intentionally do not write a lot about work here. It is often said that you don’t want to say things in a blog or in a Facebook post that will get you into trouble at work so I don’t do it. Besides, I have little to complain about. Things are going well at work although it’s phenomenally busy. The work I do is challenging and interesting, and the days fly by. The people I work with (and for) are great. My biggest complaint is having to leave the house at all.
During my 4-1/2 days home, I spent lots of time online. I dabbled some at Twitter. I caught up on lots of other blogs, and I cleaned out my list of blogs I was following. There were many that have given it up, and the blogs no longer exist. That was sad to see. I redesigned the layout for one of my blogs. I finally figured out how to add the “Like” button at the bottom of two of my blogs where it sadly had been missing all along without my even noticing it (and I wondered why no one ever liked my posts!). I was able to blog daily here and semi-regularly on the other two blogs.
I also spent time getting my head on board with the whole health and fitness thing. I have logged what I’ve eaten every day faithfully. The one day I didn’t (I snuck in a few too many Hershey’s kisses) was the day I gained a pound back. I have exercised every day of the New Year so far (okay, it’s only 5 days, but it’s a start!). I even got up at 5:30 this morning (instead of relentlessly hitting the snooze alarm button) and went downstairs to ride my exercise bike. While pedaling I either read a novel or plow through my emails. Even in fitness, I multi-task!
If I were home more than 2 days per week, I’d have lots of time to work on Homework. At the moment, school is on a break (until January 14th). That’s a nice, long layoff. It gives me time to rest and get ready for it again. If I weren’t doing Homework, maybe I could finally write that great novel I am certain is inside me somewhere! I’d really love to work on my children’s novel. I keep saying that, but I don’t know why I don’t do it. I drafted it during NaNoWriMo in 2013(!), and then I set it aside and it sits. I’d love to write an adult novel, but I struggle with dialogue. Maybe I should try to take some writing classes. I’m sure there must be some online I could take part in – I just don’t ever seem to have the time.
Speaking of time, my clock is telling me to wrap it up and get to work. Have a great day, everyone!
