My hydrogen breath test was positive. I have SIBO. From Wikipedia:

Small intestine bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), also termed bacterial overgrowths, or small bowel bacterial overgrowth syndrome(SBBOS), is a disorder of excessive bacterialgrowth in the small intestine. Unlike the colon(or large bowel), which is rich with bacteria, the small bowel usually has fewer than 10,000 organisms per millilitre.[2] Patients with bacterial overgrowth typically develop symptoms including nausea, bloating, vomiting, diarrhea, malnutrition, weight loss and malabsorption,[3]which is caused by a number of mechanisms.

Alas, I do NOT have any weight loss with this . If anything, I’m up a bit. So now I’m on an antibiotic for ten days. I’m hoping things go smoothly, and I can finally get back to what is normal for me.

Never knowing from one minute to the next what’s going to upset my stomach or set it off is annoying and inconvenient. Unless you’ve lived with belly pain and belly issues, you have no idea how aggravating this can be.
